This unique piece was created by first photographing an old playground. The pictures were printed, traced for just the linear outline. The image was then scanned, and transferred to copper to create an etch.
Champlevé is the ancient process of adding enamel to recessed cells. In this case, the enamel was added into the pockets of the etched surface. Enamel is then added to those cells very slowly and sanded smooth.
Once complete, the setting is created from silver. The back of the piece features a diamond pattern taken from a photograph of an old surface on a playground. Each part of the setting is hand fabricated. Every attention to detail was carefully planned. I hope you love it.
