Emily Joyce is a vitreous enamelist, sculptor, and art educator based in Cleveland, Ohio. She holds a BFA in Enameling from the Cleveland Institute of Art and an MA in Education from Case Western Reserve University.
Her work merges technical precision with wit, drawing from her dual roles as artist and educator. Through meticulously crafted forms, she examines the architecture and mechanisms of playground equipment, art materials, and school environments—spaces that quietly shape our earliest understandings of risk, creativity, power, and play.
By investigating the overlooked and often under-managed worlds of childhood, Joyce reveals how imaginative playground experiences echo into adulthood, influencing how we build, balance, and navigate our lives.
