He Sees the Ghost
Amidst the mists and coldest frosts
With stoutest wrists and louder boasts,
He thrusts his fists against the posts
And still insists he sees the ghosts.
Etched copper with hand fabricated sterling silver fists (ok, scrolls to hold the chain...but they remind me of fists) rivets and a clasp. This piece is reversible!
This is part of a series of pieces that was inspired by a binder I found at the Upcycle Parts Shop in Cleveland, Ohio. The binder was was kept by a vocal music teacher in 1947. This was one of the many tongue twisters used in her vocal warm ups. Basically, it struck a chord (see what I did there?) with me. Music is one way we find connections. Through live music, church choirs, school music programs, Broadway, and karaoke...people gather and partake in something that is healing. What better way to praise, celebrate, appreciate, and participate then with song? It saddens me that song, breath, and the voice is muffled, discouraged and unsafe.
*this chain comes with this piece. It is 26”. It is not replaceable. All jump rings are soldered on to ensure the piece stays safe.
